Our Woodwork Project

As part of our new church, we decided to use some of the wood from Castlemilk East and Castlemilk West buildings to create new furnishings and fittings for our new church. But then the project grew arms and legs and we thought it would be wonderful if those things could be made by the people of Castlemilk.

A few months later John Elder was in post as the woodwork project co-ordinator and in a few weeks we hope to be ready for our first volunteers to come in and learn the skills of traditional woodwork so that they can make things for our new church. We hope that folk who have been out of work for a while might come in and folk who might appreciate being around some company. There are always jobs of varying skill to be done, so we hope we can find a wee job for everyone that wants to be involved.

You can find the woodwork project -  also known as Castlemilk Carpenter's Workshop - at Unit E6 at the Glenwood Business Centre, just behind the swimming pool.
